Meeting Minutes

June 3, 2010 at Dan Michael’s house

Attendance: Nicole Musmanno, Wendy Chase, Mike Sutak, Dan Michaels, Sarah Barnes

Meeting Called to order at 6:50

Motion to approve minutes from previous meeting passed.

Notice of on-line approval of Sarah Barnes to fill unexpired term of secretary.

Motion to approve use of BVEA email list to advertise need for volunteers approved.

Discussion of BVEA Schooling Days:

- inform membership of CHP Open Schooling Days, week of June 21 (Nicole)

- possible dates for BVEA Schooling Days: June 19^th or July 3^rd. Nicole will check for availability of trainers for those dates.

- check with Lindy and Deeda for days they will be at Wendy’s and publicize (Nicole).

- send email that Deeda is available Wednesday mornings at Wendy’s. Riders should call Deeda and Wendy to reserve a place (Nicole)..

Discussion of Fall Derby:

- Proposed location: Silo Farms

- Proposed date: September 11 – only date that works for Silo’s calendar (Nicole will follow-up with Gayle and Kim to confirm).

Discussion of Introduction to Eventing:

- make information available at local H/J schooing shows

o Triple Creek

o Hobby Horse

o Others? Ask Amy Henze for suggestions

- Brochure

o Schooling opportunities

o USEA: what is eventing

o Is there a BVEA member with publishing capability? Laurie Prindle? Dan will contact here to discuss. Sarah will collaborate on content

Discussion of BVEA website:

- include information on instructors and schooling opportunities

o check with Deeda and Lindy for permission to include their contact info

o ask about listing Tamora

o list Lory State Park – need a contact number – Kathy Seibel?
