Banquet Discussion:

• Nicole to provide list of sponsors for banquet to Misty

• If you purchase a ticket you get a coupon for a free drink

• All awards are accounted for

• Anyone who has won an award will receive an email and or call from Misty informing them that they will need to attend to collect their award. Awards will not be sent out

• We will have gift certificates at the banquet

• If you are an award winner and not a member - you will need to sign up and be a member in good standing for 2010

Future of BVEA

• Would it help communication to members and non-members to have a twitter and/or facebook account

• We discussed broadening the name of the club to be more encompassing of the North - we decided by vote of the attending members not to change the name, but rather we would hold meetings further north to accommodate our members located further north

• In addition, we will increase our level of communication via, BVEA website, email, snail mail and phone to ensure members know when and where to look for information on club activities.

• Agenda’s will be posted 2 weeks prior to meeting, we only hold six meetings a year

• We discussed our mission statement and why we exist:

• Our mission is based on two main objectives: Communication and Education

ByLaws Update

we established a committee to update our bylaws and get them finalized for presentation to the members and board. Committee is Gillian Webster, Dan Michaels and Wendy Chase.

We also appointed Sarah Barnes as our Education coordinator and stand in for the President and Secretary when needed. Sarah will be acting secretary for Gillian as she will be leaving in March to compete in California for six weeks

We need to vote on the new Treasurer and V.P. forms will be available both ballots will be available on our website and at the Banquet, votes will be counted at the Banquet. Current applicants for Treasure - Wendy Chase only and for VP - Mike and Lynn Long

Nicole will be gathering a brief bio on all candidates for our open board positions and all votes will go directly to Nicole.

Please note, you vote only counts is you are a current member in good standing

Sarah Barnes in her new role for BVEA as education coordinator is currently working on a Fun around educational day, which if you are a member you will already have received an email from Nicole on the details. Please visit the BVEA website for more information on the March 13 educational and social event, sponsored by the BVEA for it’s members, it will be held at Wendy Chase’s facility from 10 - 3pm with a limited number of 30 entries. More details to follow shortly.
